Modernist garden design

Working with a sympathetic hand on this site was imperative to our client. With so many buildings of this era being knocked down or renovated out of their time, a desire to emphasise the architectural character and charm of the house drove the tone of the garden.

A tired lawn surrounded by sprawling agapanthus was repurposed as a serene courtyard garden separated from the pavement by a minimalist cedar and steel screen, tying seamlessly to the clean, modernist lines of the dwelling. The plants were chosen to compliment the sleek, mid-century style and include monstera deliciosa, sansaveiria, heliconia and strelitzia nikolai.

A terraced corridor lined with trimmed bamboo leads you to the primary entrance of the dwelling, before extending further to a series of cantilevered boardwalks connecting to an elevated balcony.
